Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. If you are walking the entire distance, you may want to bring a backpack with another change of socks and shoes. Some choose to wear work boots, some running shoes. Whatever is most comfortable for you.

Consider a hiking sock or moisture wicking sock, which may help prevent blisters.

Wear light "breathable" clothing. This will also help prevent blistering and chafing.

Some may choose to wear more clothing when it is warmer. Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable if it is hot.

Be sure to check the weather...if it is scheduled to be cool, wear layers in case it warms up

Be sure to eat a full meal before the walk. you will be using a lot of energy and will need something substantial and balanced to carry you through the day. You will also want to bring a few snacks (water and bananas, possibly other food will be provided at rest stops)

Bring sunglasses and/or a hat. Be sure to wear sunscreen!

You may want to bring some bandaids just in case

You also may want to bring a rag that you can use to cool yourself off with at the stops

Fanny packs are great for carrying small amounts of food, gum, etc.

Hydration is key also. Beverages will be provided at stops....but you still may want to carry some with you

Get plenty of rest the night before. Eat a well balanced meal. CARB load!!!

Don't forget to bring your American flag, any size 🙂
